Once coined as  "useless tiny bubbles"
Gull Lake begins to master its longevity
Coffee Talk:
Did you hear our Board is running out of volunteers?
No dear  I have not heard that, it started in 1994. That long ago!
Fact: Without volunteers, of which there have been many, this basin would still be a "man made disaster!"

The ONLY means to succeed considering the economy is getting involved.

The sparkles on this water shed returned - and have been directly related to the residents volunteerism
Safety signage
The Board is responsible to mark the open water in the winter.  The Board manages, creates, and installs some 90 signs.  They allow themselves access to the lake surface when the ice is 7 inches thick near the aeration system.  The  target date for signage project is around Christmas however, due to thin ice or slush this is not always possible.
Volunteers take turns. In this picture Al Letwin has his Family enjoying the day.
1998 / 2000 have been historic years for this community, the water clarity during much of the season had the measurement(s) going to the bottom of the lake.

Water chemistry
has vastly improved.
Water clarity measurements are important.
Collected Data demonstrates first hand the success or failure of programs initiated.

In this picture Harvey Dueck is measuring the water clarity and water chemistry using standard equipment granted from the Department of Conservation of the Province of Manitoba.
